Yesterday, I shared the example of Lidia Becoming Last. Today, I want to give special appreciation to a couple of couples at my church. The Bridge is a small church and we meet in a preschool so every Sunday we have to arrive early to set-up and leave late as we clean-up.
We have set-up and clean-up teams, but two couples choose to unselfishly put themselves last each week. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave. They make sure the preschool is clean so we stay in good standing with our hosts. They are at church for almost five hours because of their dedication.
They don’t have to do this. They are free to come and go when they choose, but they enjoy serving the church. Quite frankly, their attention to detail and dedication has probably saved us on numerous occasions when trash cans weren’t emptied or dirt was on floors.
I appreciate all the people at our church who work to set-up and clean-up. I love that they are willing to give of their time the way they do. So thanks to everyone and thanks to the two couples (you know who you are) who make that extra effort this week. Your service does not go unnoticed. We’ll have to work on getting some people to help ya’ll out from time to time.
